Year of the Horse!

Tuesday, January 28, 2014

It has been quite awhile since I've updated, but I didn't find the time to do so because it has been a busy streak ever since I returned from my trip. Anyway, the trip was good! My first European adventure, my first "white" christmas where christmases originated (sorta), and my first not-in-homeland-nor-on-any-land countdown. I missed the fireworks but I guess it was a decent tradeoff ;)

I've always looked forward to Christmas and CNY because its the time where I get to have fun with my relatives and get presents/ang baos too =D And this year is quite special for me because it's the year of my zodiac. In other words, I've lived for 2 cycles. Old liao! But I kinda am still quite excited for it heh heh~

Met my friend for lunch today and we chit-chatted alot about our worklife. It's an eye-opener for us and ultimately, its a natural progression for everyone most of us. I really respect people of the older generations. Although they might not have many paper qualifications like alot of us do in this gen, they are still an expert in their own field. I admire their dedication to the job and their unfaltering discipline to work everyday and not succumb to the temptation of taking leave whenever they feel like it, sometimes even when they need it. They really grow to love what they do, and I want to be just like them. Should I take the plunge? Or should I stick with it? Hais, headache.

Okay enough of the deep thoughts! Here's an apt quote for the new year just a few days away: "Throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe habour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover" - Mark Twain
