“Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.” - Jobs

When he was 9 years old, Proud taught himself HTML after seeing a book called "Your Own Website" in a store, according to Forbes. By age 12, he was already building professional websites.
Proud says he always had a desire to attend college, but by the time he had graduated from high school, he had a change of heart, as Forbes reports. Instead, the South London native opted to join Peter Thiel's fellowship in 2011 — a program in which the billionaire investor pays young entrepreneurs to skip out on a traditional college education to pursue their business ideas.
Proud's first startup, GigLocator, was the product of his time in Thiel's fellowship. GigLocator, a live music aggregation service, was bought by the owner of the Williamsburg-based Brooklyn Bowl venue almost immediately after Proud'completed Thiel's program in 2012.
After GigLocator was bought, Proud began working on Hello Inc. The Sense sleep tracker is Hello Inc.'s first product, and it will retail for $129 when it eventually launches.
The secret to making a successful tech product, Proud says, is to create something that works so well it fits naturally into your everyday life.
"Technology is most valuable when you don't have to think about it," Proud said to Business Insider previously. "That's when it becomes magical."
Just finished watching 'the fault in our stars' and I really liked the show. It's really sad how good people always die and, more often than not, die earlier then bad ones, life's just like that. But one thing I admire is how they look at the positive things in life, and fight to live the life they want. They overlook the bad things that come with the good, and just live as if everyday's their last. It's very very difficult to do that in reality. I wish my life is a movie.
Sooo...I would call August my catch-up month, because I did many catching ups with my friends, from JC to Oweek to uni. It's really nice seeing all of them, all working adults, well except me. . .hais it's really hard to not find a job just for the sake of an income when all the likeable ones are always just out of reach. I want to be able to help people, why do the recruiters make it so difficult for me.

It's almost the end of July and I haven't blogged anything for more than a month since my last, so here's a little update on my life...
July is a month for a few of my firsts, such as it's the first time since I didn't have a job since my graduation and the first time I went overseas with a good friend. As my previous post mentioned, I am without a job and have some getting used to do (like real =P). Okay, jobs are pretty hard to find since I am still looking to find something that I would be interested in, and the cover letters are a pain in the arse because it's something the recruiters look at and which have to be tailored for each and every specific position I intend to apply, and worse of all something I don't really know how to write well. The biggest headache is that I don't have much clue as to what positions are out there, other than the common ones I hear, and I have a hunch that the ones I am interested in are those hidden from common view. Maybe the local community should really adopt the "Parents' Career day" to expose the kids here to what kinds of career opportunities are out there, and let them work towards what they like. Instead of working to something children think they like, only to find that there is no such position available. Gonna save so much trouble for everyone! Yeah, that's my two cents worth.
Well, forget about the bad stuff. Now for some fun stuff: I went overseas with perv, to her home country (not hometown), and did some things I never expected to do - We hiked Mt R. Gosh, it still sounds so surreal to me, with all those negligible pre-hiking trainings, I still can't believe I managed to reach the place I reached. Unbelievable. Perv went up much higher, which is even more amazing and you just gotta be in awe of her determination. Haha but still, I know better to push my limits and I wanted to make sure I could make it down in working condition ;) and we both did.
Yep, thats the mountain we hiked (behind us), lets all take some time to accept how tall the mountain is *feels really really proud*. Haha okay enuf about mountains, lets talk about seas! Yep, we went snorkelling, with the only prior snorkelling experience I have was the one from adventure cove rainbow reef. I really liked rainbow reef, because the water was clear, cooling, and I can swim with the fishes that are well-cared for, which is kinda cool. This time round, I got to snorkel in nature. I would say the guide experience wasn't good, but the few minutes I got to spend snorkelling around in the water and seeing the turtle, that was great. If I return, I would definitely drop the guide and do a free & easy snorkel by renting from the island shops or getting my own mask.
Blue skies, blue seas. The views were one awesome one after another. On island, it felt more like a caucasian country than an asian one, but I heard that's what it feels like most of the time there too, so we didn't really missed out much in terms of island fun. I also really liked the last few days when I got to try out some local dishes and did a few shopping at the super interesting 7-11 kind of stores that sells so many things (kinda like the popular stores here).
Yesterday was my "last day" of work, and today is the first day of my "holiday"! Whee~ =) It's quite a tough decision because there are a lot of factors involved, but I guess it's better to make a decision and make a change instead of complain and yet do nothing about it. It's a small change and some might say quite an impractical one, but it's still a small step nonetheless. The bittersweet feeling, bitter because I realise I'm gonna leave the rare few friends at the workplace and of course I'll be living on null income, but sweet because I am finally free to think and do the things that mattered more to me. Jobs are important because they provide a source of income and sometimes a bit of fulfilment, but when it sucks you dry of energy and happiness to live a fruitful life outside of your job, it's pretty much a signal that it's time to leave.
"The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance" - Alan Watts. Dance? Guess its a sign for Ellen time ;)
Just finished watching a movie, and it made me think about life and everything that has happened. Come to think about it, people worry a lot. Before we were students, our parents have to worry about getting us into a school. Then the worry falls upon us to worry about our results, and the next, and the next and the next schools we have to go. At last (yeah right!), we have to worry about getting a job, and the next and the next. I thought I would have emerged out of the hole of worry by now, but apparently not. I really want to live life the simple way, getting up when I want, doing what I want, and then being with who I want. Marissa once said: Burnout is about resentment, and you beat it by knowing what it is that you are giving up that makes you resentful. I think these words are really true. I have been quite unhappy for awhile, and ever since I made that final decision and acted upon it, I really feel much better. Of course it would mean that I will be freer for quite some time to come, just don't over think it for now ;) Oh well, that's a little update about me for now. I must clear my head and think of the correct direction to head soon!

The life lesson to learn is, we can only depend on ourselves. Tough, but it's the hard truth. Every experience I have, it just breaks me down a little, but shields me up a bit more. Don't blame me if I block you out eventually, because you helped build the wall. Be patient, stay strong, do good and live happy.

I haven't been blogging for awhile now, because life's same-old same-old. Now, my life is really like a roller coaster, just that its getting low or lower. When I don't do something, Group A questions me even after countless explanations. . . When I do something, Group B questions me. Group B's questions were still quite ok, until Group A comes in to comment on what I do, telling me how I should do it, what I should do instead. Must something BIG happen to me again before you can let me off your questionings?? I thought it was getting better for awhile now, but just because you don't see it, doesn't mean it isn't happening anymore! Why do you have to question every single bloody thing in my life? Meet this person also say, don't meet this person also say. Never go also say, go already also say. Do this also say, don't do this also say. . . You all make me really don't want to go there anymore, I don't even feel okay there anymore and I have to go there so often. Feels so restricted. On the brighter side of life, I managed to accomplish something in life recently. Although its a small accomplishment, it feels quite good to have done it. mini yay! Anyway, that's all for now.

Yesterday, was quite a fun day for me because it was one of the few rare days in manny manny days where I get to do the things I enjoy. The day started with having a simple meal with my mom and little sis. It's been awhile since I went for breakfast with them already, because everyone is so busy with their own lives. The food wasn't nice and the place hot and stuffy, but I am not sure why, I still enjoyed it much better than alot of the other breakfast experience I've had. Then, I finally used my new lappy to play a new map in l4d. It was the first time I played single (well because everyone else is so busy), but it was not too bad. At least it took my mind off thinking too much for people who doesn't appreciate it. Oh well. Next up, I went for volunteering. It was nice, just being there to help people. I wished I had more of these. Next next up, I went to catch a huge blockbuster of the season. It has been quite awhile since I watched any movie and this movie was one of them that I really wanted to watch. It was nice overall and although I fell asleep at a few scenes, I still enjoyed the movie. Been awhile since I can fall asleep so peacefully, and the movie theatres can be a magical place =) Also managed to eat some sweet desserts to end the day!
Anyway, May's here. We're into the fifth month of the year, three days to my exam and two months till the end of my contract. I can't wait!! =D
"Fairy tales only happen in movies" - George Melies. In the past, I always believed that fairy tales can happen in reality too.
I wish there was a restart button for life, because I would really like to press it right now.
I really wish there is someone who has been in my situation that I can talk to and give me some advice.
Can you please show up in my life soon?
Every time I share my troubles with people, they add to my trouble. WTF is wrong with people. I don't have them to turn to when I have work troubles, and I don't have my work to turn to when I have them troubles.
"Be smart. Truth is, when you're down, nobody will be there for you. If people are there, most probably they just want to get you lower. They just want to judge you by their standards. As if you weren't feeling bad enough, they want to reassure you that no one can be trusted. Only a lucky few will have people standing by their side even when they're wrong, just because it'll make the person feel better. So use this as a motivation to push yourself up, and then graciously allow these people to kiss your arse when you've become successful." - anonymous
My weekends have been good. So far I’ve managed to do loads
of stuffs over them, bringing my lil sis to different cool world iconic places,
sliding down ice, sliding down ice with a bumper, catching up on some movies
(yay!), getting my movie souvenirs, baking & cooking at my sis new house
and realizing my cooking art potential, crashing a baby exhibition (I’ve never
seen so many pregnant women and mamas gathered at a location and looking so
determined to enter a place before! See what discounts can do to people…), witnessing
a dog carnival (so many beautiful dogs!), bringing my parents to experience 18
chefs (but didn’t order their zhao pai cheese baked dish -.-), seeing people
swing on bars and jumping onto wooden blocks over and over again, and last but
not least, eat good food (yum!). They were all so fun, in contrast to my bleak
weekdays, except for having the chance to experience a presentation panelled by
a lot of big shots, entering a toxic location geared with what I wear to lab
normally, experiencing how the neighbour of a burnt unit will look & smell like
and having an eerie incident.
It's a new week and the last 1.5 week for April. I dunno if I look forward to what will be coming, but I'm glad that I'll have things to do at least for the next 2 weekends!
"Don't ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive" - Howard Thurman
Sometimes, its the choices we make in life that determines who we are. Not the circumstances, but the choices we make during those circumstances. So maybe I'm too stupid to notice before, but now I'm slowly fixing the puzzle together and getting the whole picture. Some people get it really easily, but its difficult for me and its something I have to focus to see. Maybe because I'm too blinded by distractions, too blind to see the truth.
Then there are times you realize people make decisions that contradict what they say, and it adds up to the confusion. How much do you give before its enough? Is it fair that they say another is over protected when the next thing they do is to hold up the shield for that person? They chose to give up their own and spend their time on another before complaining to you that they didn't have time for this, nor that. There's so many other people in the same situation, but I don't see them giving what what they like or maybe love for something they complain so much about. Weird huh.
The past few weeks have been tough with a lot of things going on everywhere. I guess I'm those kind of person who likes to handle one thing at a time. We'll be more focused you see. But things just keep coming one after another. People just tell you to learn how to handle it, but nobody's there to teach or guide. How can we progress like that? It's like they want a cake, and they're only providing the dough. No recipe, no specifics. Maybe the people around me are all chefs, but the thing is, I'm not. I don't even come from a baking school.
Anyway, as my boss just said : life goes on no matter what happens. So just have to grit my teeth and move on.
P.S.Goodness, everything seems to be breaking down on me. My laptop's giving me blank, my new com is unable to load so many sites and my tablet just restarts every other waking (sometimes even sleeping) moment.
It's been a headache for me, but at least I've finally complete what I was supposed to do, albeit a few months behind schedule. And the funny thing is, I'm sorta like the only one panicking. I was told I will be going here, doing this. But thus far, I've done nothing that was told to me before the finalization, and I guess I won't be doing that ever, as clearly indicated on that sheet.
So, what should I do next?
I don't get told what to do after graduation. I have to make my own choices. And I've always made stupid ones. I talk to people, but they change their words. And the consequences end up on me alone. This not good, that not good. But they are thinking in their own shoes, not mine. Sometimes, they just expect too much without being in the same situation. It's really tiring, that everything I want to do seems like a useless thing to do. That everyone should be really good in only one aspect of life and they do that for the rest of the life, but they punish people who wants to learn a little bit of everything. They want a diverse individual, and yet they suffocate them to the predetermined scopes. Worse is when there are the uninvited "educated" pinocchios that poke their noses into everything. Guess even a full education cant teach you everything huh...
Anyways, its the same old rant again because its been the same old same old. Hais, why does life have to be so miserable, why do bad things have to come in combos...
"If you're not making mistakes, then you're not doing anything" - John Woolen
Quite alot of things have been falling into place recently, but the best thing is, I'm pre-occupied. Things seem to be moving forward (I guess). Not that it's 100% good, but at least they're moving and it helps take things off my mind that may be worse, so it's a good thing in a way or two. Not only me, everyone else seems really busy. By choice, or no choice, sometimes it just isn't what I'd like, but it isn't my life so it's definitely not my right. But I know that there are times (many to be exact) where people do not make decision while thinking for anyone else so I guess that's just the way the cookie crumble.
My next week is pretty much planned and plotted, and I'm quite curious what might happen because decisions will have to be made. But on the other subject, time is passing real fast! It's already 2.5 months past the start of the year, and just 8++ more months to my birthday =P
Well, I'm gonna keep this post short and end it with a short quote: "Sometimes, it's just intuition".
So it's true. People make their own choices. No matter who the other person is, they don't make choices for us, and neither for us too.
I miss the movies that can make me entranced for the short hundred over minutes. Movies nowadays are like a brain teaser, makes you think wth they are talking about and how their next sequel is just a money making endeavour. I think divergent should be different though, not as captivating as hunger games but a winner among the movies that are coming soon. Why can't there be more movies like Inception/avatar/monsters inc or storylines as exciting as the harry potter series (this is the best already) or lord of the rings. A lot of the shows are about advanced technology, which is cool, but not that cool when there are 100 other films that uses the same idea. Like minority report was cool, Robocop not so much.
"If you had your chance to change your fate, would you?" - Princess Merida
Today, I met a hypocrite on the way to work. He told me to do some things, which he himself doesn't do it. My first thought was to just laugh over it, then I thought about it, and connected some dots. Yes I realized I "started" a fight with kpo when I decided to ask kpo a question on top of kpo's questions to me -.- Kpo made it seemed like asking the questions was a very very very natural thing to do (well, it's not, it's bossy when you do it, and you're not my boss), and seemed like my question was redundant. But really, I just wanted to know why kpo keeps asking questions about me and I placed a simple 'why' at the end of my answer, which kpo took it as something offensive I guess? WTS. Why can't I ask why am I being asked those questionsss? It's perfectly reasonable mah. If you want to ask so damn many questions then you have to be prepared and be open to answering questions. And I asked only ONE question for goodness sake, and its not a personal question also. Then came the war where kpo gathered friends and within 24 hours, friend number 1 started his attack. I thought he was an okay person, minding his own business while being "attacked" by kpo in their native language. But come to think of it, maybe he likes it. That's why he's being so protective of kpo. Problem is, anything happening between kpo and I, is none of his business. Why so kpo? He can gossip all he wants with kpo but I didn't do anything to him and he definitely only heard kpo's side of story, so WTH does he wants to get involved? Seriously, the phases don't-judge-me-till-you-walked-a-mile-in-my-shoes-or-live-a-day-in-my-life and don't-get-involved-until-you-know-100%-of-the-story works pretty good here. Sometimes, psychology seems like a really interesting subject to study. I understand, that you guys might have nothing better to do. I mean, I'd always asked myself to believe that you have different labs and that days when you'll didn't come, you'll are reporting to your alternate labs (which is potentially BS) and people here know too. Especially so for friend number 1, who finished his experiments loong ago, lives a 15mins walk away, is taking staff salary, occasionally seen around and who tells me about work ethics which he never follow. I would have appreciated the advise from someone who does it too, but not from a hypocrite. Also, for kpo, who appears to only do two regular things here, which is to use the computer to fb/play candy crush and kpo about other people's business. Actually, I don't really care what they do in office and I don't mind them doing whatever they're doing too. BUT, don't come and ka chiao me. I didn't go around poking my nose into your business so please, don't let your noses come over too.
Fun fact: Today, nothing else unusual happened. I haven't seen friend number 1 after I returned from a toilet break (wondered where his work ethics experience came from) and I haven't seen kpo since I came.
Valentine's day was just over, and I came back to office filled with questions. "Were you sick last week?" No, I was on leave. "Where did you go?" Home. "Just resting huh." "When is your presentation" (Didn't answer cause I don't have one so I tot she was asking another person) "When is your presentation (looks at me)" I don't have one. "Did he forget about you" Maybe. "Maybe he forgot about you (and gives the you-need-to-go-ask-him-to-appoint-you-a-presentation-slot-asap-look)" Yeah but I asked him before.

Anyways, time for a nice quote "Humanities' greatest advances are not in its discoveries, but how those discoveries are applied to reduce inequality. Whether through democracy, strong public education, quality health care, or broad economic opportunity, reducing human inequality is the highest human achievement" - Bill Gates
Sometimes in life, of course when you're suay, you get to meet people like this. People who keeps probing about your life, working & private one included. Even when you barely talked with them before, like once or twice? They can use their hide skin to ask questions, and still be so demanding. "What did you have last night? Where did you go? Why did you go?" Well since I still have to see your face everyday for god knows how long, I can't say this directly. But asshole, please get off my back. You're not my boss, not even my mentor. I don't rmb you helping me with anything, except to sprint for the last seat available in the meeting room when we reached the place at the same time. Even what people do over the weekends you also want to chap. Oh please, just go. Go back to where you came from and where you plan to be.
