Poster | Dinner | Birthday
Sunday, May 19, 2013Final year project. is over. =D
All the days of hard work and late nights for the past year, was summed up (mostly) in a poster and that 15 mins of chit chat with my examiner. I was quite nervous before the presentation began with my mind thinking of the not-so-related stuff like how I was over-dressed for the event and the-kinda-related-stuffs like how was I gonna survive a 10 mins presentation in the ever-so-open presentation venue that anyone would be able to see you present. But gradually, when it all started, the conversations kind of muffled alot of other sounds when it was my turn to present, I was glad I couldn't hear most of myself =P So the whole thing passed super fast and as my direct prof said I need not present to him, I was kind of done for the day. Next up was the photo-taking session where people went around taking photos with everyone else. I wanted a photo with my prof too but I guess I was too late in doing that and he already went for his lunch. Next time next time! Anyways, I managed to get a few shots with a few people and here is one to sum up the photo-taking session:
That night dinner was not too bad. Took abit of photoso and witness a few surprising performances with quite good food (I didn't know my school of the last 4 years had places like a wedding banquet!). I didn't stay till the end because that day was someone special's birthday too =) Went off to meet him and had a mini celebration heh heh...happy birthday ❤
*huff & puff & ehh, where's the flame??*
The celebration continued the next day with me planning the events-for-the-day! Okay, maybe about 50% was after consultation from him heh heh...we had lunch at a place near home. First visit for both of us staying almost half of our lives here, but we were more the kpt-ers than restauranteurs. He favourite is the curry rice set which is rather good across the outlets.
I like the chawanmushi & the toufu & the sushis more, and this time round, I tried the more expensive toufu. It's really more worth the extra bucks!
Next up, was to do something to burn the fats away, err, actually is more to clear stomach space for the buffet awaiting for us later on...can eat more you see, especially since it is so expensive =P
Look at that focus!
After all those strenuous workouts ;) we went on our buffet place to have our fill...
As usual, we targeted the seafood first. This time round, we ate like 7 oysters each! They were like tequila shots with the lemon juice on top of it, but without the alcohol. I would have eaten more if I wasn't that full at that point in time (wasted!).
The prawns were fresh and juicy too! And they had this lime mayonnaise which tasted okay. So now my sauce likability order is like tartar-lime mayo-mayo.
The special thing here is this salad which they "fry" the vege in a cheese-carved pot. The vege was then mildly coated with the cheese and we had the freedom to choose our toppings. So everything other than the vege in the picture was kinda our creation, which was ding gua gua! Should have gone for another round.
Beef & red meat up next, with baked potatoes that I didn't really like though.
Yeah! There was like this area with only crackers (and keropok!), so I had no choice but to take a few of each. Still keropok is the best of the lot.
Oh there's this small dish with prawn and suan vege...take it if you see it, must try everything right? =)
For the Asian cuisine, we took abit of each: beehoon, oyster sauce vege, broccoli, chicken, toufu, mushrooms & I forgot the rest. This bit was more than enough for two!
Then we continued with the noodles special. I wanted to have laksa one, but I started with prawn noodle instead and he took the tom yam flavor. We were so full that we didn't take the laksa later on (why my stomach so bu zhen qi =/).
Coffee, tea or me? Apparently coffee was the choice...
Okay, so there was a selection of meaty stuff too. And again, we took abit of each: salmon, duck, ox tail, chicken & prawn.
Sashimi side, there was salmon, tuna, SWORDFISH (the word itself sounds cool right), something and something. One was a type of clam I think...but salmon tasted the best to me.
haha, it's oyster time again and this time we got a king oyster! Look at the size diff (okay the pic doesn't really bring out the impact, but it was really much larger in real life). The king one was much yummier than the regular ones, with more "meat" too!
Finally, it's desserts time. Saw this cute decorated dessert and we just took it without much look. It's made up of a cream like thingy, on a doughnut like thingy on top of a chocolate like thingy. The taste doesn't match the visuals though.
Yay! I've been like eyeing the waffles ever since I stepped in the place and finally I got to eat it. The waffles here have a few types of flavors, and we chose the chocolate and pistachio one. The portion given was just right as we (or maybe just me) were very full by then already. See the brown sauce? It was one of the best toppings ever! Tasted like chocolate plus cornflakes but not too heavy on the chocolatey side too. The nuts were making us nuts too. One word to describe the following picture will definitely be "YUMS". Could just eat this everyday...
A smiley face decorated by him, see see, playing with food already, must be super full by then. For this, the green tea choco balls were good. The white lemon balls were too soury for comfort.
Ice-cream time! There were more topping selection here and I could express my artistic self =P The ice-creams were distributed instead of open for all to take, and I actually feel that it is more hygienic with this arrangement. There were more flavors than the usual choco-vallina-strawberry combo.
Overall, it was quite worth it and I'm happy his tummy is filled.
